
GRILLED CREAMY BLUE CHEESE SANDWICH WITH FIGS
Celebrating the flavours of blue cheese - our recipe for grilled blue cheese sandwich with figs is com-fort food for blue cheese lovers. The combination of sweet figs, intense blue cheese and crisp apples with sweet ginger and toasted sesame is bound to bring a smile to any cheese loving face. Try for your-self.
Ingredients
- 50 g Castello® Creamy blue Cheese
- ½ large apples, cut into thin slices, e.g. Jonagored (approx. 300 g)
- ¼ tbsp ginger marmalade
- ¼ tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- ¼ tbsp toasted sesame seeds
- 2 slices whole grain or rye bread (approx. 250 g)
- 1 fig bar (approx. 25g) or a fresh fig
Preparation
Preparation1. Cut the fig bar lengthwise into three strips. If you are using fresh figs, slice them.
2. Arrange two sandwiches by layering Creamy Blue Cheese slices and the fig topping between the slic-es of bread.
3. Spread some butter on the outside of the bread slices before toasting.
4. Toast sandwiches one at a time for 3 minutes or until golden using a pan or sandwich toaster.
5. Toss the apples with ginger marmalade, lemon juice and sesame seeds.
6. Arrange the apple salad on plates with the toasted sandwiches.
